Meeting Notes

March 14, 2010 - We looked through recipes picked some for our menus and planned activities for our next backyard campout. We worked on earning the Camping Interest Project. We made seven layer dip for snack. We stamped designs into leather to make a bracelet and key rings.

February 7, 2010 - We had some new members join us - so we started our meeting by played the name game. We made wallets and bookmarks out of colored duct tape. For snack we made "Melt-in-your-mouth" pancakes and topped them with strawberries and whipped cream. We planned a sleepover for World Thinking Day, where we will celebrate Chinese New Year on Valentine's Day. We planned our menu and some activities to celebrate! We had a little time left so we began lanyard keychains and friendship bracelets to take home to finish.

October 18, 2009 - We decorated our scrapbook covers with fabric and made more pages to put inside them. After we selected our fabric we had to iron it, then cut it out before we glued it on. We covered the outside and finished the inside.

September 13, 2009 - We planned our menu for Camporee, and made swaps. We will make Deviled Eggs and a "Kitty Litter Cake" for the Saturday evening Potluck. The cake looks so gross, it will be a "Survivor" Challenge to eat some! We had fruit smoothies for snack, yummy!

August 16, 2009 - It was very hot! We went swimming and just hung out by the pool.

July 12, 2009 - We decorated flip-flops and made periscopes! We made 7 layer bean dip, and it was so good!

June 14, 2009 - We had a pool party and BBQ hot dogs and chicken. We discussed things we'd like to do during the coming year. For the next Camp-o-ree, we each picked our own 3 "Survivor" activities from a list of 12, that we want to attend. We are going to start a yahoo group to share information, Troop calendar and event signups.

April 12, 2009 - Since different girls made it to this meeting, that had missed the last one - We worked in our scrapbooks and had a Candle Lighting Ceremonial.

March 8, 2009 - We planned our menu for our Backyard Campout. We had cupcakes to celebrate Girl Scouts Birthday. We worked in our scrapbooks and had a Candle Lighting Ceremonial.

February 8, 2009 - We made new signs for Cookie Sales. We tasted cookies from around the world, biscuits from Scotland, France, and Switzerland, biscotti from Italy. We worked in our scrapbooks and had a Candle Lighting Ceremonial.

January 11, 2009 - We learned about the new Cookie for sale this year and played serveral Cookie games. We selected many events that we want to attend: Fencing, Rock Climbing, IMAX, Bridging, Camping, Theater Badge, and Weather Badge. We ate pizza and salads - and tasted the new Dasiy Go Round cookies.

December 14, 2008 - We made more pages for our scrapbooks. We made a Honey Cake with honey, flour, baking soda, and one egg, and we cooked it in the microwave to map the hot spots in a microwave. Some parts were burned! We ate our cake with Hot Chocolate. We also decorated mini Christmas Trees.

November 9, 2008 - We went to the play All Shook Up! It was a long drive to get there, but the play was worth it - we want to go again!

October 12, 2008 - We met at Lu's for our second Journey meeting. Then we worked on new pages in our scrap books. We made phone calls to find out about going on our own tours, and we ate Girl Scout Cookies.

September 14, 2008 - We meet in the park to begin our new Journey books. We learned about our own power, and are going to keep a power log. We are going to research for a "Herstory" to bring to the next meeting. We went over the Fall Sales information and made up a commercial for our favorite candy. We also played on the slide and swings!

August 25, 2008 - Pool Party! We had Nachos, Chicken Wings and more. We swam and picked the events we want to go to through December. We are going to have fun this year!!!

July 21, 2008 - Ceremonial and Bridging with a Family Pot Luck at the Park. We had under the sea shish-ka-bobs! We stood on the table, walked across the bridge, and we enjoyed playing in the park.

June 23, 2008 - We ate pizza & salads, selected the events we want to attend in August and September. We began to plan our next Ceremonial and Bridging with a family pot luck picnic at the park. And we made lanyards while we were planning.

June 9, 2008 - No meeting as we just came back from 2 weekends in a row of camping. Camping was fun!

May 29, 2008 - We brought our packed bags for camporee to the leaders house, making sure our names were on everything - even our mess kits. We added pins and tags to finish our swaps. We got the food ready to go into the ice chests - because we leave for camporee right after school tomorrow.

May 12, 2008 - We finished our planning for our Luau theme camporee, and made swaps out of foamies for the event. We went next door and bought some things to dress for a Luau. We bought leis, straw hats, funny sun glasses and grass skirts.

April 28, 2008 - We reviewed our last camp-out discussing what we liked most and what we want to change for the next camping trip. Then we began to plan for our camporee trip, our menus and what we should pack. We will be leading some campfire songs so we practiced singing.

April 14, 2008 - We planned our upcoming backyard campout. We planned the menu and what to bring, earning most of another badge. We also talked about our service project for Creek Week.

March 24, 2008 - We made lots of swaps for the Swaps and Bingo event. And we ate more pizza & salads!

March 10, 2008 - We celebrated Girl Scouts 96 birthday by doing one of Juliette Low's favorite things - making new pages for our scrapbooks! We also celebrated by having pizza and cupcakes.

February 18, 2008 - We decorated hair clips and head bands with ribbons and bows. We sampled 4 boxes of the new cookies. We sang songs, took pictures and choose the next events we want to attend.

February 4, 2008 - We ate salad and bread twists. Then we played the Name Game because we have more Brownies and another new Junior in our Troop. We reviewed our sales techniques, safety and cookie knowledge to earn the Cookie Connection badge and the Cookies Count try-it! We also sang songs and ran around the room!

January 21, 2008 - We added Brownies to our Troop with a new leader Claudette and a new Junior Scout! We make a poster about our cookies, with the nutritional information from the side of the boxes. We analyzed the information to determine which cookies had the most to the lowest in each area. We ate pizza - as the cookies have not been delivered yet.

January 7, 2008 - We did a cookie word search, ate pizza and salads, then planned our upcoming events, and made a cookie catcher.

November 12, 2007 - We ate salads and pizza. Then we worked on the Sign of the Rainbow and World Neighbors badge. We made Flag Swaps for the Color Guard event, in next Sunday. We also discussed which event we want to attend in February - we did not reach a decision and we will discuss it again at our next meeting.

October 29, 2007 - Ceremonial, We joined with Troop 2006 to light lots of candles for the Girl Scout Promise and Law, and to celebrate Juliette Low's Birthday. We had chocolate milk, punch, and cake for the 147th anniversary of Juliette Low's birthday and to celebrate Girl Scout's 95 years - 1912-2007!

October 22, 2007 - We work on our scrapbooks with paper dolls of the original Girl Scout uniforms, and completed the Girl Scouts in the USA badge.

October 8, 2007 - Troop 2006 joined us to plan an Investiture and Rededication Ceremonial, we made invitations for the ceremonial, sang songs and played a game.

September 24, 2007 - Many new members joined our group! We worked on or started our scrapbooks. We practiced counting in other languages for the World Neighbors badge.

September 10, 2007 - We planned our menus for the Camporee, worked more on the the World Neighbors badge, and practiced our counting in other languages.

August 27, 2007 - Finished Swimming badge and pool party!!!

August 6, 2007 - Planned family camping trip meals, labeled a horse's anatomy, and discussing common equine aliments and proper riding etiquette. To finish the Horse Rider badge that we began at summer camp.

July 26, 2007 - We began working on the Sign of the Rainbow towards the Bronze Award, and selected the World Neighbors badge to complete next for the sign.

July 12, 2007 - We reviewed what we should take to Summer Camp, and tried to decide which events we wanted to go to in September. It was a tie between the Overnight Safari at the zoo, or the sleep over at the skating rink. The zoo eventually won as the skating trip was cancelled, maybe we can go there on our own later.

June 21, 2007 - Still adding new scrapbook pages and pictures for all our events! We briefly began to plan a Bronze Award project.

June 7, 2007 - We just relaxed and caught up on scrapbooks - adding pictures for all the events we have been doing!

May 17, 2007 - We ate pizza, then went shopping for our food for the backyard-overnight camping trip.

May 3, 2007 - Began to plan for our first overnight Camping Trip

April 26, 2007 - Made SWAPs for the Court of the Queen event - ate pizza! Selected our June Events.

April 12, 2007 - Made SWAPs for the Rockin' Ropes event - and ate Ice Cream Drumsticks.

March 29, 2007 - Made scrapbook pages, remembering our Cookie College event.

March 1, 2007 - Made poster for cookies booth sales, and reviewed our cookie knowledge, sales manners and techniques.

February 15, 2007 - First Ceremonial! Friends and family watched us receive our badges, then we went out for Ice Cream!

February 1, 2007 - Completed "Girl Scouts in the USA", "Cookie Biz" and Badge requirements, decorated flower pots, made invitations to our ceremonial.

January 18, 2007 - Practiced Flag Ceremony, reviewed Cookie College classes, made scrapbook page for paper dolls, finished planning our Ceremonial

January 4, 2007 - Worked on badge "Girl Scouts in the USA", began to plan our Investiture Ceremonial, made scrapbook page for Girl Scout Law, looked at Girl Scout Uniform History.

December 21, 2006 - Discussed Girl Scout ceremonies, promise, law, sign, motto, and slogan. Made Candy Cane Hobby-Horse ornaments, ate Hawaiian pizza and Girl Scout "All About" cookies.

December 4, 2006 - First meeting, Parents and girls - registration and orientation. Parents agree Thursdays would be best day for meetings. Girls selected a Council Event to attend in February, "Save a Fluffy Friend" 1:00-3:00PM on the 25th.
